Over, But Definitely Not Out!

Reliable communication is key in all business areas, from operating aircraft to delivering information throughout organisations. Without reliable communications, projects and processes are put at risk.

The RAF Motor Racing Team have partnered with RaceCarRadios.co.uk to supply a high quality radio system to fit in the cars for Race Of Remembrance.

Motor Racing Comp Sec, Chris Slator said “Yet again we’re looking at another crossover from aviation to motorsports.  All our aircraft are required to be fitted with radios for safe operation, then where required aircraft are fitted with certain radios to gain a tactical advantage – that’s exactly what we’re after with this capability in our cars.  We have a mixture of driver experience levels running in the event and it’ll give us an advantage over other teams without radios, to provide live information and hopefully it’ll give us chance to make gains during any safety car periods.”

Jez Banks, Forty40Racing Commercial Director noted “We’re really proud to be working with the RAF Motor Racing Team, our products have been through considerable integration testing in race cars across numerous formulae in UK Motorsport events and we’re confident the team will see immediate benefit from the capability.”

RAFMSA Public Relations Officer, Will Runciman noted “During the Race Of Remembrance weekend my role within the team is to deploy and manage the media engagement plan throughout the event, however my primary Service role is a Survival Equipment Technician with the RAF Aerobatic Team, The Red Arrows.  I’m responsible for maintaining the assemblies that allow our pilots to survive the fast jet environment including communications, anti G measures and life saving equipment used in emergencies. I’m looking forward to demonstrating this capability with our drivers protective equipment including protective equipment including their individual communication headset housed in their helmets”

A range of radio kits and accessories are available to view and purchase on the RaceCarRadios.co.uk website and the different RAF careers can be seen and applied for on the RAF Recruitment website.
